Unravelling the Spiral
Local writer Jack Harte recently published his latest book entitled Unravelling the Spiral at Roscommon Library. The book is a story on the life and work of Fred Conlon. Fred was a near neighbour great friend from their days in Killeenduff, Co. Sligo before the Harte family embarked on their move to the Green in Lanesboro. Fred through his natural ability as a sculpture received the highest plaudits due to the excellence of his works and the next time you approach Bunratty Castle in Co. Clare you will notice stone fibula which was sculpted by Fred. This book is in honour of a lifetime friendship and recognition of the tremendous work and is rightly fitting memory of one of Ireland best sculptors.
Jack relates the life and work of Fred in his own inimitable way and the book is a tremendous read. I would like to congratulate Jack on another fine masterpiece and hope he again has wonderful sales of this book. The book is on sale locally in O’Brien’s at a cost of €24.95.
