Open Evening and Enrolment

Friday night AGM

The Shannon Gaels Minor club is the minor club of Rathcline GAA club and it has a long and proud tradition of looking after their young players and giving all players great memories within the club.

In recent years, we have been struggling with numbers and as a result had to amalgamate with Grattan’s to make up teams for competition and to give our young players football.  This year we had players of our own to play at U12 and U14 level- not only to play but to win their respective competition.

The club hopes to grow from this and encourages every parent in our parish to bring their youngsters to training at all grades.

The club will hold its AGM in Clonbonny clubhouse on Friday next 18th November at 8.30pm. We would encourage all parents and supporters of underage football in the club to come along to the meeting and help continue progress the club and the teams during 2017. Your attendance is very important as it is a vote of confidence to the committee.

Lough Ree Athletic Club

Sunday saw the club back in Clonbonny for the weekly road run.  Due to other attractions, such as football and scouting, there were not as many as usual. However, for some unknown reason the results were better and it certainly wasn’t the weather, maybe just “less chat and more concentration”. Those using the Ipods swear by them for faster times.

Christian Donlon, Oisin Mc Dermott, Darragh Creedon, and Hazel Johnston all recorded their best times to date, while a few more came close. Well done to all who took part, same again next Sunday (20th), same place, same time (12.30 pm).  All welcome
