It is very important that there is large turnout for this Annual Meeting. Decisions must be made towards the future development of the club and the election of officers to take charge of the club for the coming year. Please come along and play your part.

There are a lot of people that helped the club over the past years and we as a club are deeply indebted to everyone that helped us.

The club would like to thank everyone that supported out play in the Parish Hall on Saturday night last. A special word of thanks to Anne for her help with the spot prizes and hamper, to the young people that sold tickets for the draw, those that did the shop and everyone that sold tickets in advance of the play.

The AGM of the Minor club took place on Friday night last and the new executive formed is as follows: Chairperson Tina Dowd, Vice Chairperson Colette Wyse, Secretary Sharon Dowd, Ass. Secretary Mark Casey, Treasurer Mary Teresa Mc Grath, Ass. Treasurer Dominick Mc Grath, Registrar Sinead Farrell, Children’s Officer Bríd Gordon and PRO Joe O’Brien.

The club had a very successful year in all competitions both on our own winning U12 and U14 titles and being very competitive in all other grades in our amalgamation with Grattan’s. It is very important that we continue our way back to the top of underage football at all grades and we would encourage every young player and their parents to play a very proactive role in this development. We will ensure that every young person in the person in the parish that wants to play ball will get the opportunity to do so. There are a number of new families moving into the parish and we would like to welcome them and encourage their participation in our club.

In the past year, we had a good number of dedicated and excellent management teams and they played a massive role in the progression of our players. We would like to thank all management teams, all players and their families and all supporters for the encouragement and support they continually give us.

If you want to be part of this vibrant, energetic, exciting and proactive club please contact any of the above committee. We would be delighted to hear from you and welcome you into our fold.

Congratulations to Fermoyle NS who won the their Cumann na mBunscol final during the week.

Lough Ree AC

Road running continued last Sunday, again we were lucky with the weather, 10th consecutive run.   Conditions were dry but very cold and the athletes felt it.  However, times continue to improve and this week it was Leah’s turn to bring in a Personal Best and Hazel and Darragh Creedon did likewise.  Regular running is beginning to pay dividends for the athletes.  We all know once a month outings are “for the birds” and for that reason we are continuing with our weekly outing again next Sunday. We are thinking of changing the format for next weekend i.e. appointing three or four captains and allowing them to pick teams and turn it into a team event.  Nothing like a bit of variety!  Hoping to see a few more next Sunday at 12.30
