Lanesboro Ballyleague Notes

New Bishop in our midst

Many many congratulations to Fr. Ray Browne PP of the parish of Kilgefin who last week was appointed as the new Bishop of Kerry. Fr. Browne is a most personable man who since his arrival in the parish has been a major influence and a great source of strength for many people. His departure will be deeply regretted and at the same time the people of the parish will celebrate with him on his wonderful appointment.

Fr. Browne is a native of Athlone and since his ordination in 1982 has being a canon lawyer, a school chaplain and parish work. All of these three functions of his ministry gives him a wonderful insight to not only his ministry but aspects of family live and a full understanding which I have no doubt he will display as Bishop of Kerry.

We wish him well in his new appointment and we are sure his time of Bishop in one of Ireland’s most scenic counties will be long happy and fruitful.
